Hitty-Emily, like every small child and travel doll, wanted to visit Disneyland. So she
borrowed an outfit from Hitty-Esther and off we went. Our first stop inside the park was
to watch a show with the Disneyland Band and a few of the characters. The characters
were escorted around the park by the Disneyland Firemen. One saw us taking her photo
and ran over to volunteer his services!

One of the window displays that drew her attention was a miniature kitchen scene. She
was surprised to see something just her size.

Like everyone who visits Disneyland, she loved the beautiful flowers. Before I could say
anything she had slipped under the gate to play in them! While she was playing in the
flowers, someone slipped up behind us and put his "hand" on my shoulder. It was Eeyore,
who wanted to pose with her! Since he couldn't actually hold her, he had my friend give
him a big hug and hold her up for the picture!

It seemed like everyone at Disney was as excited to see her as she was to see them! Later
that afternoon, we saw a lady with a miniature Pooh who was taking photos with Pooh
Bear just like we were with Hitty-Emily.

In spite of the 95 degree heat, it was a fun day!

Hitty-Emily, the travel doll, heard the other Hittys talking about a road trip. She wondered
how they were all going to fit into the little roadster. She was really relieved to find out that
they were going in a much bigger car! But where were they going?

"From coast to coast? What fun!" she exclaimed.

Tomorrow, the Hittys leave Los Angeles, CA, for a trip across the country to Washington, DC.
They'll be visiting friends and meeting other Hittys on their 3000 mile trip across country.

Because the Hittys will still be traveling on the 4th of July, they set up early for a little
celebration.

Did someone say "Road Trip"?

Getting Ready for the 4th!

Hitty-Emily, the travel doll, spent the third day of her trip from LA to DC, in Albuquerque,
New Mexico. Her day started with breakfast at TACO CABANA.

"Why are you wearing that dress?" Hitty-Esther asked.

"Because we are in Mexico...." She replied.

"We aren't in Mexico. We are in NEW Mexico!" Hitty-Esther exclaimed.

After breakfast, she went down to Old Town Albuquerque. In Old Town, she enjoyed the
strolling musicians, bought some sovenirs, narrowly avoided being captured by an Indian,
and discovered why she shouldn't play with cactus!

I'm ready for the road trip!

Do I have to ride with her?

Yuck! She's licking me!

I like riding here better.

California is beautiful.

Hitty Emily's travels took her to Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas in the last two days. After
spending the night in Amarillo, Texas, we stopped at the famous tourist attraction, THE
BIG TEXAN. Hitty Emily decided NOT to try to eat the 72 ounce steak! She was intrigued by
the atmosphere of the place, until she saw one of the giant bears! Fortunately, he was only
trying to be friendly. Hitty-Em charmed the rattlesnakes. Hitty Emily begged for one of
the jackalopes to take home, but the girls had to be satisfied just going for a wild ride
around the store. They did get to keep the cowgirl hats and Hitty Emily got another
postcard for her collection. The girls all enjoyed seeing the world's largest cross in Pampa,
Texas. Of course, we had to get off on Route 66 and see some of the sights. Hitty Emily
wanted to see the world's largest Barbed Wire Museum. How many chances would she get
to see that again? She loved seeing all the things that could be made of barbed wire and
had a great time playing on them. She and Hitty Esther did a little climbing when I wasn't
looking! They also loved seeing the scenes from Old Route 66 that were set up in the
museum, although the photos from the Dust Bowl era made them sad. They bought Route
66 charms to commemorate their visit. On to Oklahoma! Hitty Emily decided to borrow
Hitty-Em's Native American costume sent to her by Esther since she was in Cherokee
country. She enjoyed the Cherokee Tradina post, but was startled by a creature she saw in
the parking lot! She was glad that he was friendly and decided to keep him as a pet! On to
Arkansas, where we ran into our first glitch in our plans. Our Holiday Inn reservationist
had made us two reservations for the same night in two different towns, but none for our
fourth night! So we arrived at our hotel to find out that we had no reservation and no
room. We had to drive all night and arrived in Arkansas at 4 am. After much discussion,
Holiday Inn agreed to comp two nights at the Holiday Inn in Arkansas. So we spent
yesterday visiting relatives. On to Tennessee today to visit more relatives and then on to
North Carolina tomorrow to visit the Hillbilly Hittys!
